In-Office Anesthesia
Oral surgery patients of all ages are anxious about the upcoming procedure. Patients commonly expect discomfort and even pain during surgery. For such patients and for patients who require more extensive surgery, intravenous sedation is an excellent adjunct to local anesthesia. Oral surgeons are uniquely qualified in administering of intravenous sedation. During the course of their hospital training, oral surgeons, become licensed in administration of general anesthesia. In-office anesthesia, as administered by oral surgeons, has an extremely safe track record. In order to insure the safety of our patients, we employ all the essential monitoring and emergency equipment as well properly trained, BLS certified assistants. Our office maintains 100% compliance with Hawaii State regulations for administering in-office conscious, moderate and deep sedation. We offer IV anesthesia to patients of all ages, provided that there are no medical contraindications. Furthermore, Dr. Hannon underwent office anesthesia certification as recommended by American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as our local state society chapter. Our extensive experience with administration of anesthesia allows patients to tolerate complex procedures without pain and unnecessary stress.
